The Angelenos hiked the Piyuma Trailhead to Latigo Canyon in preparation for the trip on the Backbone trail.
Our Hike
We set ourselves a real challenge today, knowing that (hopefully) nothing we walk on the Camino will be as strenuous. Fatal last words. Two miles straight up, we take a breath and consume our potato chips. Once up on the ridge the endorphins kick in and we move along at a good clip. Until we round the corner and the stone escalator appears. A 30 degree stone chute where our hiking poles prove their worth again. Lunch at Coral Canyon with a swarm of women mountain bikers, also enjoying their potato chips.
